I have an 89 turbo, Vitesse chip, 3 bar fpr, boost sciences boost enhancer. Car has 100k miles, and is a 50/50 DE/ street car. I am thinking of upgrading the exhaust to a 3", test pipe (cat delete for track days). While the exhuast is out, thinking of upgrading the wastegate (has been shimmed by PO). Lindsey or Tial, and which size for this application.
Thanks,

Both are solid moves. Most seem to like tial better, as I have not yet installed mine (sitting on my desk) I cannot comment. My test pipe, which is 2.5 (3.0 cat back though) seemed to make a difference when I did it.

I've done both, but do the wastegate first. I have the LR DP, works well, and the Apexi avc-r works great with it.It is very illegal to take he cat of here, so I had a 'sport cat' put on, it doesnt seem to have a lot of restriction.

I have the Tial here...love it, but the easy installation of the lindsey is a plus from what I have heard. A 38mm would be more than enough for your set up. I purchased mine through myswiss here on rennlist and have no complaints.

Start with the Tial so you can appreciate just how much difference it makes, then again you have a shimmed WG already. Next question is boost control and there is plenty to read about in the archives. The 38 is good for a 25.l engine and whilr the install seems a little daunting in the beginning, it's no worse than replacing a clutch.
j/k!
I'm fix'n to install a 3" exhaust and that will wrap up of my 951 mods.
