I have an EBC but the solenoid failed (read the previous posts). I have also already stretched the spring and installed a shim in the reliaboost with no change in the boost pressure.

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Idle vacuum should be a lot more then -1psig!

Really, from the research I have done the normal idle vacuum is typically around 16-18 in/mg which equates to -.8 to -.9 PSI.

Did you solve your problem ?

I currently experience erratic boost loss and suspect the reliaboost.
With the reliaboost tightened I would hit 18 PSI for a couple of accelerations then boost would hit not more than 6 PSI. Then I would untighten the reliaboost and retighten it and the same behaviour repeats. Again and again.
I replaced the original WG with an as-new one last week. No difference.
Any idea ? Everything else was double checked and is ok (vac lines, hoses, etc).

Actually I did find the problem. My turbo failed with less than 1500 miles on it. There are numerous threads about that whole ordeal in the archives.
Right now I just changed my intake pipe and it made a huge difference in spool up. I am now hitting 19psi of boost at 3,000rpm with the stock wastegate and some seriously cracked headers. Would love to see what this thing would do with a tial and the headers fixed. That is for another day though when I finally get some money. Anyone want to buy some computer memory?
