Default 160-180mph speedos

Question,
Is it possible to put a 180mph speedo gauge cluster in an earlier 944 turbo that originally came with the 160mph speedo gauge cluster? They do have different part numbers. Would the speed indicated if changed be wrong? Your thoughts please.

Yes.
You may also use an S2 or 968 or any Euro cluster.

the speed will be as accurate as the original one - in other words - ****.

The spedometer actually reads 171mph (or 270kpr) if you look closely.

You can have the speedometer gauge recalibrated ($30-$80) and have it replaced to the 180mph (300kpr) or higher speed (from the 959) and calibrated to that speed for an extra $30 from North Hollywood Speedo Gauges.

I had my gauge recalibrated, and reads spot on as my GPS IIRC.

Yea- They are great
But I really didnt want to have to mortage my house to get the white faces for those gauges from them. They told me I was looking at north of 400!!
Still kinda bummed about that

Now that you mention it, they did do color changes as well. I would advise against that unless you were going to do all your gauges their way. others won't match. I've heard they do unbelievable work on the colors too. Any color you want. They were too pricey for me to though. just to recalibur the gauge wasn't much though.
