I have been following this car for some time, its the reason I'm putting that front end on the RS.
John: Would never dis this car - it was built from the ground up as vision put it "we didn't want to slowly build a street performance car then make the transformation into a race car - there will always be compromises. This time we decided its purpose from the start." Nothing but respect and I'd love to own this bad boy....if only I spent more time state side. *sigh*

Thanks for that lart - was an interesting read. I must admit the air duct on the roof looked non-functional to me at first too, until I read that bit about how they relocated the radiator to the back of the car

There was a guy at Hallett last year who brought one their 2.8L to the track that he had purchased just 3 months prior. It seemed very well sorted and was damn quick.

Yeah I though it was called "flipper" as well. I could be wrong.

The ebay ad title says "ORCA."
The car is also for sale in the PCA classifieds. The descriptive text is the same, but it contains the seller's information:
"Contact TAK ISHIDA (LAGUNA HILLS, CA) at 949-609-0250 or FANTAK@FANOUT.COM 3/2/06"
Tak is Dwain Dement's business partner at Vision, and the phone# listed above is the corporate number for Kokeln. So I would say the auction is legit.

Wow!!!!
Just looking at the pics you could almost part that thing out for 50-60k. Custom intercooler, custom oil coolers, intake, blah blah blah. I don't even want to guess how many hours they have in that car.

I made a mistake, here's the story. Flipper is not for sale, the owner is doing a interesting conversion on it. The car for sale is ORCA.
ORCA was built after flipper. By Vision Motorsports as well. ORCA is "flipper" on steroids.

I would kill to find out what underbody mods they did as far as aerodynanics goes. Has anyone ever tried to completely seal off the bottom of the car and add a diffuser at the rear? Hmmmm....

At one time Flipper was for sale. I spoke to Dwain back in 2003 about the car. I was then debating about building the car I "had", or buying that one. I was so serious about it that he extended me an offer to take it out on a test track for a shake down for a few laps. It's a fabulous car.
