Question about lean a/f ratio at idle with using Mafterburner
I got my new Super 61 and Lindsey stage 2 maf installed last night. I changed from a huntley maf, but I've always had the mafterburner controller. For what ever reason with the new setup I can't get the a/f at idle to drop below 17:1. I've maxed out the adjustment with the Mafterburner. When driving the a/f drops to the normal range. What would cause this high lean condition at idle?
TIA

I have the same problem at idle and would love to know the problem. I'm using an ATE MAF and mafterburner. With 55lb injectors, I still need to add 40% more fuel to make it idle. I havn't had time to mess wtith it.

What is your fuel pressure, where is the FQS set? Depending on injectors, try around 40-45psi fuel pressure and see what you have - do you have an AFPR? Do you have a spare TPS to try, can you hear the TPS click, and is your idle 850-950?
I'm at 44psi fuel, my cell/slides are about +30 to 38 at idle, 14.5-8 A/F ratio, stock O2 hooked up.

Bret, I have a 3 bar regulator. I can't remember where the fqs is set at, but it's set for 55lb. injectors. I'm using Guru chips. I didn't touch the boxes though, so there shouldn't be a problem there. The TPS is new and it clicks just when I open the throttle. I have a spare that I can try. Idle is dead on 840 rpms according to the mafterburner.
My cells were about the same before I changed the maf. I'm thinking that I may have a vacuum leak some where. Does this make sense or would I see it during the whole range and not just idle?

well, what kind of vacuum numbers are you reading? do you have a boost gauge with a vacuum readout, or better yet, zeitronix? Vacuum leak is probably where you want to start if thats what you think.

Would the tps throw it off that far? What else would have an affect on the af at idle? I am out of range to even control the fuel. The car seems to idle fine, but the a/f is off according to the wb. The NB meter dithers at idle like normal.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the maf offset in the mafterburner, you may want to try adjusting the slider and see if you can hone in on the right frequency.

Why don't you try to set the fqs to stock injectors position #1. You will get more fuel. Than scale fuel back with the piggyback. I have used guru chips in the past and the scaling back that danno programs into his chips doesn't work.
