Derek, I just wanted to confirm that we're on for tomorrow to pick up the car. I also would like to look at the Lindsey front panel and would appreciate it if you could bring it to the shop. Are the turbo twists 17 inch?
Thanks,
John

BLLLLUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Those drilled rotors are perfect for track cars!!!!
The motor is out of the 86, I was going to "restore" it but ran out of patience/money. It is professionally rebuilt with same block 2.5L , polished crank, re-finish heads, widefire HG, ... just wanted something slightly better than stock, if I cant get 3k for it I will prolly keep it for a spare.
Just remembed I have (possibly) a Huntley racing turbo ... not sure what to do with this? Any one have an idea if its worth rebuilding /using /selling?

drilled rotors!?!?! we dont need no stinking drilled rotors!
EDIT: My apologies! FYI , never -ever –ever use drilled rotors on the track. I just read on a racing forum that usually around the second hot-lap drilled rotors can have catastrophic life threatening consequences. Apparently the holes can get glazed over by the superheated gasses combined with brake dust and melt over the surface of the rotor (not unlike melted chesse on a lumpy ground chuck patty) and when the gas bubbles in this proverbial cheese expand and mix with the vapors from casting imperfections, the rotors will simply detonate. In a recent case the owner of a lightly modified 84 Honda Civic experienced this detonation. Witnesses report that it was a blast similar to that of a hand grenade (not a homemade “Molotov Cocktail burning variety, but more like the modern day military “pineapple” style that relies on concussive force and shrapnel). Apparently the detonation also ruptured the cars fuel tank and the driver was melted to the seat so bad they had to use a paint scraper and a pressure washer (one of the gas powered ones, not the 49.00 electrical one that Sears sells) to remove him from the factory seats.
Im not sure if this is true or not but that’s what the guy said.

No worries Opeth. The drilled rotor thing gets beat to death. But, it is good to get the information out there for those of us using the cars as track cars.
Can you PM the information on the engine. IE who did the rebuild. How much was done on the head. ETc.. etc.. etc.. I am very interested in the engine.
