Default Vitesse MAF and K27/8 Install Complete !

Well, the Vitesse MAF and my K27/8 are installed and all the obvious bugs are worked out. The power is absolutely amazing - it is night and day compared to stock.

The challenges included:
- Battery decided to die during the build-up and threw me for a loop - new battery fixed this one
- Loud squealing noise under boost had me expecting the worst - turned out to be a loose clamp and a boost leak
- Bad stumble on boost - thought it was a lean condition, but turned out to be leaky Magnacore ignition wires

The most frustrating part of the install is making the Forge BOV fit. Mine still doesn't fit to my satisfaction - I need to rig up some other hose setup.

I'm still running the blank map in the SMT6 while I get used to things. Thanks John at Vitesse for an excellent product with excellent instructions and support !

Here's a couple of pics...

Please let me know if you figure out a way to make the Forge CBV fit. I'm stuck. I've installed it backwards but I don't think that's optimal.

Will do, I'll post my solution when I figure it out. BTW, I wouldn't mount it backwards. Boost pressure will open the valve and leak boost.

Cruising in 4th at about 3000 rpm, floored it and have 5-8 psi boost instantly and 16 psi by 3500 rpm or so.

You guys need to cut the side port of the clown-like long Tube and lay the unit down parallel with the upper boost tube.
The 90 degree rubber hose now connects the bottom Forge to the turbo intake pipe.
Now it wont dent your hood any further and the coolant resy will hold it really snug.

Although different pipes, it should end up like mine above.

ST you mean cut off/shorten the side port of the valve? The means cutting off the swedge.
Wont the hose blow off under boost?

Perry you have different hardpipes.
The connector for the CBV on the IC pipe is closer to the throttlebody on the stock IC pipe.
I read somewhere that it should be as close to the TB as possible, but it didn't explain why.

Swap the hoses and invert the BOV opposite of mine. (port towards the throttle body). This way the outlet uses the 90 elbow and the straight section connects the IC pipe and inlet. Should fit.

Placement of the port on the pipe is not a huge deal, as long as it is after the IC.

Eivind - yes, but the coolant resy holds it very snug.
I have had mine like this for a LONG time - no worries at all.

Just an image to illustrate how tight it is with the VR MAF and the Forge CBV.

Interesting... I guess my J pipe has the port in a different spot. (it's an SFR pipe) I was able to get the BOV in place with the factory pipes.

Can you get the pipe roatated any to help? If not, it looks like you need to hack up the port on the valve or the pipe in order to get it in there.

ST, thanks for the tip. I trimmed 1/2" off the BOV and fitted it the other way around. It's a much better fit. The hose on the bottom could have been a little longer, but it will work just fine.

Brad - looks good.
Samco makes the correct 90 degree 4 ply elbow with 4 inch legs for this.
Also - can you turn your turbo intake pipe clockwise 10 degrees?
