I'll have some '86 951 bars in about a week to sell (for cheap). They're the stock ones. I believe 24mm front and 16mm rear hollow bars. There a little bigger than yours I think.

According to this article,
http://www.924.org/techsection/Suspe...reparation.htm
944 Turbo bars are 22.5mm and 18mm
M030 bars before 87 are 24mm tubular and 18mm
M030 bars 87 and later are 25.5mm tubular and 16mm

Three Wheelin'
The '86 951 came with either a 22.5 mm solid or 24 mm hollow front sway bar and an 18 mm solid rear bar. The two front bars have the same effective rate, but the hollow one is lighter.
'87 and '88 non-M030 came with 25.5 mm hollow front/18 mm rear. The front bar also had thicker tubing walls, so the difference in stiffness is greater than the difference in diameter.
The '87+ M030 and Turbo S came with 26.8 mm hollow front and 18 mm solid rear bars. Tubing walls on the 26.8 mm bar were even thicker to increase effective rate.
All '89 and later 951s and 944S2s as well as non-M030 968s came with 26.8 mm hollow front and 16 mm rear bars. (Actually a mid-year change on the 1989 951 from 18 mm to 16 mm rear bars.)
The 30 mm front/19 mm adjustable rear bars are the 968 M030 bars.

The stock sizes are still available new, I just bought a 19mm 968 m030 rear for $169, I think pelican sells them for about $149. I'm told that one is stiffer on the stiff setting than the 924s m030 20mm (or is it 21mm). I think Lindsey offers a 968 kit, 30mm front, 19mm adj. rear for about $500, all new.

Is there much gained by going from the late 951 sway bars to 968 m030 sway bars? Anyone whose done it care to comment? I'll have to look and see if my rear bar is a 16mm or 18mm. If its 18, I can't see there being much value in changing the rear other than the fact it is adjustable.

The late 968 M030 rear sway bars are adjustable allowing you to fine tune your suspension a bit. A definite advantage in my mind and experience. I would switch both front and rears to the 968 M030 bars.

The advice I got for a 'budget' autocross setup was to go w/ 350# ground control fronts, and then add the 19mm adj. rear, I already have 25.5 t-bars. I was also told that the front sway alone wouldn't really do much over my 26.8, and that I should budget for some 30mm+- T-bars. RK 951; I asked my race shop (who does a whole lot of 944's) pretty much that same Q, and ended up w/ the above.
