Default brake line spring clip removal (rear)

How does one remove the rear brake line fuel clip? see picture below.

I have always used a pair of needle nosed vice grips to lock onto it and pull.

I've tapped them off using a hammer and flat-blade screwdriver. Less chance of bloody knuckles that way.

I have used the rod in the tool kit and a hammer to get them both on and off

I did not think about the anti-sieze, though I did hit them with much pb blaster!
