Default Old School Big Turbo - Dyno Chart Analysis/Advice wanted

I just picked up my 951 modified as described below:

SFR stage 2 turbo with stage 3 turbine
Stratosphere forged 006 Diverter Valve
SFR stage 1 SS headers
Tial 46mm wastegate with adaptors
Pro Flow 75mm maf with arc2 fuel controller
Turbonetics MBC
52lbs injectors
Huntley AFPR
SFR short throw shifter
Russell liquid filled gas pressure gauge
Autometer boost gauge
Guru custom chips for 18 lbs.
Tech edge wide band o2 with NGK sensor.
Rebuilt head with 3 angle valve cut
SFR 3" exhaust
Wide Fire Headgasket

Its running pretty well and was Dynoed at 320 RWHP
I would like to take this car to the next level 375 to 400 RWHP
and would like some constructive ideas

I would like some comments on the Dyno numbers and what can be done to improve the spool-up, torque and HP.

First off, you're gonna need larger injectors to take it up to the next level.

How big? I saw somone running 400 WHP with 55lb Injectors, so these shouldn't be too far off.

Some of these A/F lines deceive you, where does 10 start - on the bottom or the first dotted line?

I wouldn't be that lean at the onset of boost either. That fuel curve could be straightened out some and you'd probably gain 20 hp and torque, maybe more torque. How much boost and how much fuel pressure?

How much boost were you running?

And btw, your front tires look a bit baloonish.. Do you have the right size?

I can't quite tell where the a/f scale is, but it looks like it may be too lean in the 4k range, for head gasket purposes anyway. Your set up is similar to mine -- I have what Huntley called his Stage 2 turbo, along with the ARC2, HR AFPR, 52lbs injectors, Deltagate, etc. I ran mine up to 345rwhp with my set up, at 20psi with 104 VP gas -- you probably have more potential. Without knowing more about the turbo, it's hard to say if you can get to 400, but I'm guessing you can squeeze out more power without making wholesale changes. How is your ignition? The jagged dyno chart is telling you something maybe. Rotor, cap, wires, plugs, coil, all new? Have you obsessed to find all vacuum leaks -- reseal the throttle body yet? The little things all add up to rob you of power. Do you have a test pipe or cat?

You cannot run the car at the boost that produced this afr - you will burn the headgasket.

Some fiddling with the ARC2 and fuel pressure should get those a/f ratios down -- or switch to APE chips and turn your a/f curve upside down I have the same MAF/injectors/afpr/ARC2 and did a 345rwhp run at 10:1. Probably need to increase the LOW and/or MID **** at least a few clicks to flatten out the curve a bit.

On the other hand, I ran 20psi at 13.x:1 by mistake for about one day before burning my last headgasket. Oops!

It should. That's my old car. The car had lots of new parts and it drove perfect when I sold it. Good luck. Small world.

Thanks guys, I think the previous owner, after Jimbo, messed with the ARC2. That is Jimbo's Dyno chart. Its currently boosting about 19lbs on the gauge. I'm going to put my LM-1 on it tomorrow and straighten out the fuel curve. What's a good target for mid-range and top end WOT AFRs? I f anyone has a good curve for over 350 HP, please post it. I have a Big Turbo 1.8T VW which I try to run at between 12 and 12.5. I'm not sure if its OK for the 951 though. 10-1 sounds safe, but isn't it too rich?

I just picked up the car yesterday and towed it from New Jersey to South Carolina. I haven't even been under it yet so I don't know if it has a cat or not. I haven't checked for vacuum leaks, but I am trying to find the problem with the heater being full on all the time (its not the plastic clip)

Regarding the tires, I haven't looked at the sizes but will tomorrow morning. It might be an excuse to look for wider wheels.

Oh God help you - I didn't know that was Jimbo's old car......
You'll be lucky to get a few good runs before that thing blows like a geyser

I mentioned the 10:1 run just to point out that there is plenty of gas available with your set-up to add HP. For safety's sake, I shoot for 12:1 at the leanest, and let it get a tad richer as it get over 5500 or so...

BTW, I don't generally go over 16-17psi on pure street gas, but we have only 91 octane in CA...

Check the horsepower list pinned to the top of the forum for lots of dyno sheets, including a pig-rich one of my car...

Thanks, I'll check the list and do some logging tomorrow.

I would start with some real engine management - you have the rest of the right hardware, you just need to get it working together.
