Mark's been busy. The reason so many supra's go single turbo is because of space. 300's just go larger turbo's since their entire inductions system is basically twin systems: Turbo's intercoolers, inlets, throttle bodies, etc. There's a lot more flexibililty in a single turbo than there are trying to plumb two medium turbos, appropriate external wastegates, etc.

<quote>
most 300ZX owners stay TT, since the V6 configuration is easier to keep TT than it is to convert to single turbo........from what i've seen.

TT was something of a "fad" in those cars (RX7, Supra, Z32 TT, etc). because it was thought that a smaller turbo and a bigger turbo would give the car ultimate flexibility. small turbo for low-rpm, big turbo for high-rpm. soon after these cars were released, turbos leapt forward in efficiency, and it was possible to create the flexibility of a TT setup with a single turbo.

IIRC only the RX-7/RX-8's employ a sequential turbo setup. The other cars mentioned use parallel balanced turbos, each one fed by three cylinders. I do agree with the fad statement though.
