Best can be a subjective term sometimes. How do you define best for this thread?

The SFR FM looked nice to me. Are you saying you have that one Turby? If so, how is it?

If i was going to bother to upgrade, I'd get a new core, not just endtanks like the LR stage 2. I would be interested to see an upgraded intercooler which required a header panel vent, but not a whole new header panel shape.

I do have the SFR front mount, and I like it....... the only problem I have is with the 968 bumper cover not getting enough air to it.... but as we speak, the car is in the body shop bieng painted, and custom making an opening for the IC........

These look doable. Minimal pressure drop. You go drop it in the same location as the SFR one

It would be interesting to see an infared photo of this (or any) IC in operation, to see where the hot spots are and if the internal flow is evenly distributed across the entire area.

From what i've read while googling, end tanks that are too angular are to be avoided, since fluids don't like sharp turns. Inlets and outlets should be pretty much located at the mid-point of the core, or the internal flow will just take the shorter route and not go through the fins farthest away. If that happens, much of the IC is not really working for you.

The link to the ebay IC is from a buick GN turbo setup and yes they flow like crazy. It would require custom piping though. I have seen some that are like the SFR IC and should fit OK. Much cheaper too!

Does "best" in this thread's definition also include stock location with minimal modifications for mounting? If so, that's where my interest is also.

For those of you that are running a front-mount IC, have you deleted the stock IC, or do you include both in the plumbing? Seems like that would add a bunch of volume with the extra plumbing and increase lag?

Does anyone have any measurements of the stock location? I need to remove my header panel sometime soon, so i can take some then, but it'd be helpful to know how much space is available. Something like the ebay core with the exit coming out of the opposite side as the inlet may fit with some 90 degree samco hoses.
