Does look like the inlet wall has been machined down some. Should be no difference in performance since the interior dia is the same. I would guess that allows fitment of the stock J-boot?

I use mine mainly on the street, so i want to keep lag as low as possible. That's why I only run chips and a boost enhancer with the stock turbo. Well, that and I'm kind of cheap.
I've already put enough money into this car that I don't want to risk stressing the engine any more.

I said yes last year and am happy with it. Search here and read everything. Look for TonyG on here. he knows plenty about this turbo. Its a great turbo. Again its all about what do you want to get from it. Mine doesn't run out of steam at 18 psi. Thats why i got it. the 26/6 runs out of steam because the 26 ( compressor side ) can't flow enough air in the top end. Some are of the opnion the 6 turbine side creates too much back pressure at higher boost and rpms. I like mine. Like I said. search here and read everything and make a decision on your on. its bolt up with no modification needed to the exhaust or flanges. People say its good for the street. The k26/6 is good for the street. You can't use the full potential of the k27/6 on the street with all the other idiots driving out there. I track my car at its a blast. My $0.02!
I agree 100%.

Daniel and Geg,
Have you guys bought those splitters yet? If not re-consider. Mine has sat in My garage for at least 6 if not 7 years. They look nice and I guess they help out (???) however, I can't even get in/out of my driveway with it on.
If you want to see the clearance that they give (or don't give), I could bolt mine up (or you can bolt it up to your cars) and see how it fits/looks before you spend $$.
Email is the best way to get a hald of me. I am travelling alot.

mwc951, I would more then love to come see your car when the weather warms up here. Send me a PM with where you live around (general area) and then when the weather breaks I am come out to meet up. I am in Paramedic school until June but after like March, my time table really opens up plus my car will be out of storage then.

Vitesse offers AFM chips for the K27/6. I was going to go this route but then the combination of not wanting a kluged solution to adapt the J-boot to the inlet of the turbo and the realization that I was going to end up with a MAF at some point anyway made me bite the bullet and just go with Vitesse's MAF.

Well, skip I think you should just give me the turbo since you don't want a MAF!! I know John at Vitesse can make chips, but they are $$, then you get into the "Well, that much for chips and then how much for a MAF? But wait, what about the SMT-6 for fine tuning!!??" I got the MAF and SMT-6 already and installed just when I get the money for a K27/6 to put in a tune.

Hey guys, I am running the stock 26/6 right now, but would love to upgrade to the k27/6 after going for a ride in mwc951's car. The car felt really strong and pulled hard all the way to redline without all the lag, which is what I'm going for. Where would you guys recommend I send my turbo to have this conversion done? Thanks

I recently had mine done by Bob at Turbo Performance and I would definitely recommend them. We've spoken several times over the phone, Bob's a great guy, feel free to use my name.
