Default $1000 won playing poker. What to buy?!?

That's right, I just won a little under a grand playing poker with my friends (great friends to give me all that money, I know!) and I am looking over my Porsche To-Do list...

In no particular order -- my to-do list....
  • Shocks / Struts (Koni Yellows)
  • 3" Exhaust (Probably a zero-bling LR full exhaust)
  • Anything I can get for $1000 from Vitesse to make me go faster!!
  • New Wastegate (maybe can squeeze in with the exhaust upgrade)
  • New wheels and tires (will have to get new tires soon anyway)
  • 968 Mirrors/Handles (plus getting them paint matched)
  • Full strip and repaint (for $1000? yeah right!)
  • 968 Rear Hatch / Spoiler (again.. yeah right...)

I guess I'm seeking advice.. my brain is telling me suspension upgrades first and to get the shocks/struts to replace my worn stock setup, but my heart is screaming more HP!!!

for a grand get a new WG and an exhaust. After that i would go with suspension, unless yours is in bad shape. If it is, go there first. You can get a full Bilstein Cup steup for about 1800.00

i think you could get an ss exhaust made for around 600-700 from an exhaust shop which would give you enough room for a tial 38mm as well....but it would probably require a bit of tuning; maybe an smt6 from vitesse and a tial which would set you up well for future upgrades

edit: just noticed the bottom of your post about your tired suspension...in that case I think the money would be best spent upgrading the suspension

This doesn't sound fun, but a worn out suspension is even worse with the addition of go-fast parts. Go suspension now, and have your friends over for another poker game when you are done with the suspension. lol

LOL..

I think I've decided on the suspension (Koni Sport Shocks / Struts -- $569 + install) and an EBC, something like a Profec B S-II -- $329. That way I get a little of both.. take care of what I need, and get a nice toy to play with as well.

A new set of wheels/tires should be considered too.

With the suspension upgrade, do not forget a quality alignment job.

Chris

Suspension, and rubber. In the words of Pirelli Tire Co., "Power is nothing without control."

Not that I would go with Pirelli's....

Well I have a few extra $$ and have decided to go with a full Bilstein Cup steup and new bushings front and rear from elephant racing. then a quality alignment from Zims. Next will be some new skins.

I'm just going to through a suggestion your way. You may not want to go to a full rigid bushing set up on a road car. Elephant makes good stuff but the ride is well known to become really harsh when stiff bushing like these are used on regular roads rather than pristine tracks. You may like that, then cool, but just a heads up.

My suspension is so worn out now with 20 year old rubber it is like not having a suspension. It is very harsh now, I wnat the car to feel like a sports car stiff is good in my world.
