You'll need the instructions to splice them into the 951 wiring (unless they are manual). There are several threads in the archives.

Also look here: Link

I don't see any wires. Are they manual? If so, they are a direct bolt-on. You will just need a switch blank to replace the switch on the consol, and a blank for the adjuster on the door card.

If there are not any wires in it, its a manual. Which is good because they are light weight, low drag.

I thought the 968 mirrors wouldn't work with the 944 controller for the power mirror/heater thingys. Is that not correct? If not, I may need to rethink my position on the 968 mirrors - they DO look nice although I think the price of 'em is usually pretty wacky.

This is what the seller said :
They are electric. The connector is behind the mirror on the 968 style--that's why you may have to change them from the 944 style. But, the motors and mirror wires are there.

WES, I HATE YOU!!! This is one upgrade I REALLY want!! Where did you pick the mirrors up at? I wouldn't care if they are power or non-power.

They work perfectly fine if wired correctly. Icat's site that was linked above explains it in perfect detail.

I put 968 mirrors on my 951 about 7-8 years ago. I don't remember all the details, but what I do remember is i cut the connector off the 951 doors, plumbed the wire up the mirros and simply spliced them. I am no wiring wizard and it was very simple to do. Took maybe a few hours if I remember correct.

I have no connectors now though. They are hard wired with solder and heat shrink so if I was to remove the mirrors I would have to cut wires.

Other than that is was a "bolt-on". One of the easier 944 jobs I have undertaken....

Wes, IIRC you can just look at the wiring diagram and match them up, solder, heat shrink and keep the connectors. I do not believe there is ANYTHING severly different that will not work with the stock 944 wiring. Glad to have you back.
