KB does a chassis strengthening brace.

Has ST got any chassis work done for his 500+WHP Vitesse car?

haha well the list is basicly my engine start off list, i left out my suspension and roll cage.
As far as that goes

full coilovers
m030 swaybars
upgraded control arms
strut tower brace (of course)
i know i'm missing alot but hey it is the day after new years eve, i'm still tipsy

Body, flare the fenders out 2" on each side (gt racing or....... me and my friend might try and replicate the dp motorsports car....falls to the ground with a hard on, on how sexy that car is)

drivetrain i really haven't looked at yet and how much can our trannys take?

Whats that mean? After trying to find out what he wants, I'm trying to tell him to keep it stock, rebuild and add safety. Then learn to drive.

It’s impossible to compare these w/o Vitesse turbo's specs.

We all read good stuff from Vitesse so you can't go wrong with him.
Good spool up and lost of power across the power band. (From what we have seen anyways)

But since I was in the first to run a GT3076R (GT30R) I can give some input.
First off.... SORRY NO dyno figures yet. Been to busy and haven't found the time to go in the past 2 years that I’ve been running this turbo.
Dyno numbers are just for bragging anyways. So its no priority for me.
But i will get them someday.
Here are the figures I’ve got:
- 1/4 mile time: 12.66 @ 117mph w/ bad 60 of 2.3sec. (Running 19-20 psi)
- 0 to150mph aprox.19-20 seconds. (Have it on video running 20psi)
- 15 psi by 3000 rpm in 4th gear.20 psi by 3200rpm (also have it on video)
I have noticed that spool up is affected by air fuel ratio tuning and I'm sure timing must affect it as well.

When it comes to comparing BB versus journal B
Read about them here.

For a 2.5L you don’t want to go smaller then GT30R. The GT25 and GT28 are just too small. The only ones that can work in the GT25 &28 family is the GT2876R.also known as GT2540R)
See comparison here of a GT30R vs GT28RS

Also see the comparison of a GT30R vs GT35R

and plan to rebuild often. 500rwhp on the track is not easy. I agree with those that think your a dumb ***. no reason for 500 rwhp on the track unless your a pro driver. you will only use it in the straights. Plus, wouldnt it be nice to use the 10-20K on, say, getting your life started?

life already started time to have fun

Anyway for those who dont know how the gts challenge stacks up...

If max torque is less than maw RWHP: Car weight with driver divided by max RWHP (rear wheel horsepower)

If max torque is greater than max RWHP: Car weight with driver divided by the average of max RWHP and max torque.

The following table displays the class each car will be in after the previous calculation is applied to each cars dynamometer results.

DOT race tires
GTSU = 5.99 and lower
GTS5 = 6.0 - 8.49
GTS4 = 8.5 - 10.99
GTS3 = 11.0 - 14.49
GTS2 = 14.50 - 18.49
GTS1 = 18.50 and higher

so if my car weighed in at 3,000 pound
and tq was not higher than my rwhp, i could push up to 352rwhp and be in the gts4 class which i might start out at, thats why i'm getting all the suspension and all the things that lead up to a new turbo first. But after that 352 mark then if your tq still didn't go over your hp, then i could run at the max 500 to stay in the gts5 class, but remember this is for a 3,000 pound car

Here goes a question, what is the average hp from running 10-11 psi from the stage 3 (vr)?

Your car will be faster with a stage 2 at 10-11 psi than it will with a stage 3.
Speaking from experience.
The added spoolup and greater low-boost efficiency do a lot here.

If you know exactly what you want, and don't mind custom work, then you can't beat a Garrett GTBB-turbo.

Just my $.02

Your car will weigh well under 3,000 pounds. I guess that depends on how much you weigh though.

I'm have to add weight to stay stock and I have a full cage in an 88 (heavy) car.

What year is your chassis?

I would spend the first year working suspension mods and realizing how much money you are going to spend on tires alone. I have budgeted $4000 for tires alone this year and that's for just a few events where I will still get my a$$ handed to me. The good racers, and some bad, are going through two complete sets of tires a weekend.

If you haven't raced much more HP is going to be wasted $$ early on. Anything north of 350 is just going to mask taking the wrong line. 300-350hp is going to be plenty on the track in the right hands.

What made you think this applies to you and only you? There are lots of opinions on the list and he should filter through it.

i weigh about 270 and my car about 2700, well the was the last time i weighed it at the truck stop thing (at 2am so i wouldn't get caught)

As far as tires go, i'm probably gonna end up going with yokohoma a032R if i can find em (little expensive but they stick) anyone have suggestion on these?
i haven't picked up a 951 yet but the money is there, i was looking at a 89 with a lsd. haha like i said when feb hits, i'm hittin back
Suspension i have most of the basics down like coilovers m030 sways, past the basics, not sure when route i should go

also with racing i'm probably only going to do it 3-4 times but that will be after i get my license and going thru the de's with my 83
