Default What paint on the garage floor?

I have just applied hydrochlroic acid to the concret floor in my garage and used a paving paint to cover it. But I want to apply some kind of clear coat is possible / good to, and was wondering if anyone has experience with any particular type of product. I wish Porsche's never leaked!

Your probably not going to be happy with the results of using normal concrete paint. Your tires will most likely begin pulling up the paint pretty quickly.

I used to work for a floor coating company, Tennant. We used two part epoxy with great luck, you can buy a less expensive version at a hardware, Home Depot, Menards etc...made by Rustoleum. Unfortunately since you have already put down paint....you'd have to take it all back up.

I got specific paving paint for garages. They say leave the paint for 5 days for it to cure. So its not exactly normal paint I guess. I went through hell putting the acid on, so I will shoot myself if the paint pulls off. I was hoping a clear coat would be available somewhere.

Clear coat will only help if the paint itself sticks to the concrete. Was your paint catalyzed? If not it will never cure, it will only dry. Very poor durability if so. If anybody is interested pm me and I can give you the specs Nascar uses for garage floor paint(DuPont). 3 steps with a clear coat...beatutiful and incredibly durable but not cheap. I've used it for gym floors, factories and even used the clear on black slate in my home, looks amazing and so far one coat has lasted 5 years.

Ok, after 3 coats and a butt load of drying, it does not stock to the floor! So angry. Whats that race deck? I am thinking maybe tiles would work ok?

www.racedeck.com Sears now sells a similar tile.

Some people have had luck with flat self-stick tiles from Home Depot, etc., but they risk pulling up when its hot.

I think Home Depot is worth a visit. I will go there on the way past the Dulux paint retailer who will be getting a punch in the nose.

You can acid stain with specific drive on chemicals, www.brickform.com , if you want it to look pretty and feel artistic or just use two component cement epoxy paint but the good stuff is not available from Home depot , a cement/brick/paver etc store will have better products.
If you want to use the garage as a real shop and plan to weld (mig, tig or stick),plasma or torch cut the racedeck or similar are not the best choice.
