Have an extra set of really nice club sports-no nicks, scratchs, rubs, etc. How much are the worth?

I saw a set for an '87 go recently for $425 with good tires. Let me know what you'll take when you decide, I may be interested. (thinking about polishing)

There were two types of club sports that were made? The set that I have are the light wieght wheels and were only offered on "S" models. Mechanic at my shop said that they were worth atleast $1500.00..Trying to find out if the market will value the same price?

Check this ebay listing. Yea, $450 is out of the question. Didn't realize they were worth as much as they are..

there have been two sets of those on ebay for AGES at that price, one guy is asking $2350! Put em down to $950 and you'll probably have some takers, as this is not a great time of year for high dollar items because at $1500, with several more hundred, it opens up a whole lot of wheels for purchase, even custom offsets.

I've seen 'em listed for over $1k but I don't know if they are actually getting those prices. Check back on that auction in a few days and see if anyone is bidding on it.

Club Sports came out on the 88 Turbo S and 89T, and were also used on some versions of the 928. But I do not think they were available in 87, certainly not on any 944 series car.
Ernie's Alloys tends to be on the top end of the market, or beyond. That is a very optimistic price, and notice that there are zero bids on the set.
I think the 7 and 9 x 16 forged Club Sports are going for $600-800 depending on condition - maybe $900 for concours condition.
Ive got a set that I will be selling soon and know of a set of chromed ones that will also likely be for sale, and we will not be expecting to get anything near the price on the ebay listing.

Ask the track racers, as those wheels will have more value to them since they are production items and really well suited for production classes and DE activity. I wasn't serious about the $450. What about $500?
Of course the market value depends on how little you'll let them go, and how much another will pay. If nobody pays your asking price, and you don't have a use for them, aren't they then useless and of little value and nothing more than garage clutter? They only have value if someone steps up to BUY them from you. So whatever anybody is asking or telling you they are worrth doesn't mean a whole lot. Some of the reserves or "buy it now prices" on EBay are dreams. Good luck.

I wish they were worth $1500 as I have two or three sets available. Genuine TurboS Clubsport forged. The real value is the $900-1200 range, sometimes even less. As EdC states they make a great low cost DE/Race wheel

You also need to be sure they are really forged "Cup". There are spoke designs that, although similar, and not identical. There is a detail at the bottom of each spoke that sets them apart. Do you know the difference? They should also be 7" and 9" in width, anodized and not polished.

I know all mine are, 7.5's and 9's. I can't speak for others. Its easy to confuse them with the Design 90 wheels of the same era, that look very similar in style but are cast and painted. Its easy to find a set of D90's for $600 or less.

I sold a spare set last spring for $850. They were straight, no curb rash but needed refinishing.
I think most don't realise the value of these wheels. They are light weight forged alloys.
"Wheel Enhancement" wants about $450 each for new wheels.

My production manual from 88 Porsche 951S says that they are 7" not 7.5".
