Default what to do with 1200.00

Ok guys finally picked up my 951 and so far so good. 88 in 90% condition. white with burgandy interior. Car has no cat and new muffler. Car was rebuilt about 2000miles ago(top end). Runs strong. Dont want to go crazy. Spend to much money on the 930. I was told car has authority chip in it now. It also has a cone filter and some anadized piece by the two pipes in front of motor. It is on some vacume hose. i was told it was so the chip would work right. I was also told it has the 86-88 turbo in there. what can i do with about 1200.00. dont want to go crazy, i am using as a daily driver. Runs and idles nice and smooth now and would like same results with alittle more power. Thanks guys

John.

the little anodized thingie is prolly a lindsey boost enhancer. It delays the signal to the wastegate helping you build boost faster and makes the car hit harder. The authority chips you have are okay for stock use but, if you wish to do any more modding I would recomend getting a decent set of chips. Namely Vitesse racing. They are pretty much the bench mark for ems and turbos' on our car's right now.

oh and welcome to the dark side

GET THAT CHIP OUT OF THERE!!

Well, with a couple hundred more, can get a Vitesse MAF kit and be set to go. I think $1,400???

With 14-15psi and stock turbo should be ok with stock injectors; at the limit, but still ok.

I am sure you will get much of the same response from others

$1200 should get you Vitesse AFM chip (call him TODAY), 3.0 bar regulator, Lindsey wastegate, manual controller, vac/boost gauge and change left over - should get you to 240/270 hp/torque. But if maintenace is not up to date take care of that first.

3.5L 944T? If that is possible, which I didn't think it was, I'm gonna cry! I need to go back to the drawing board and start all over!

nah its his 911 he is talking about not the 51'. Read the sig.

and yeah I re iterate you need to call vitesse racing now and get his chip.

he will be going on vacation soon. So you may not be able to reach him if you wait.

3.4 is doable with bored block and stroked crank but I'm not sure how it will hold up, I never did it, just read it..

It is? Wow. I never knew that it technically is. But you would know better than I would. Damn, it still makes me want to cry if that is what he has?

Boo hoo.

I don't know if anyone would want a 3.5 turbo 4 cylinder.
It would take the flame about 1/2 hour to get across the pistons.
You would make more power with a 3 liter if its still 4 cylinders.

So I guess eventually it is better to have more cylinders and less displacement, vs. less cyl and more displacement?

Lingenfelter has had pretty good luck getting power from 7 liter 8 cylinders....

I know - I just don't like it.
But the bigger the piston, the less HP per liter you are going to get.

What kind of suspension does the car have? If its stock, you can get some pretty good stuff for a street car with $1200.
