Dude - WHY do you think those fronts are KYB?????
They look just like the Koni conversions That Jason sold me on my 924S.

Feel free to throw money our way ;-) but those look like standard Koni struts. What made someone think they have KYB inserts?

opened em up and they have KYB part numbers on em.

any suggestions?

i'll try to get the PN's off the little print-out they showed me at Big-O. i've used them for my other 944 and tires on all my other cars, i "know" the guy, there's no real reason he'd try to tell me i had something that i didnt just to make a sale.

No, I didn't mean to imply that...just maybe something got lost in the translation. Did you see the KYB inserts or they just told you about it.

oh, sorry. they told me about them and gave me the part numbers off the inserts....i think.

either way, the car feels ludicrously soft in the front end, and it's got the big swaybars, so....i'm just assuming that it's that.

edit- i didnt think you were implying anything. God i hate having to type things, so much can get lost in the way you emote things when you say them and the complete lack of that ability in typing stuff. thank god for smilies.

the guy wrote em down, and they're a bit illegible, but i can make it out, as my own writing is chickenscratch.

Part numbers are- 363014, model is GR-2 strut inserts. cross-checked with the KYB website parts catalog and this is actually the only strut they offer for any year of 944.

GR-2 is a oe replacement strut. If thats really whats in there, get it the hell out. Your front end shouldnt feel soft with stiff springs. If that shock is soft or blown, the front end will feel bouncy, as if it were riding on springs

I want to know how you got KYB's installed in a Koni conversion. Did you ask the PO if he sold the Konis or something. I've put KYB's in an N/A front with threaded cap but they never would have worked in a 951 strut. I'm so confused. Is there any type of drilled hole with a bolt in the bottom of the strut case? I'm wondering if someone did a home Koni clone? (not to be confused with Homey the Clown)

that's what i'm saying, steve!

i'm so goddamned confused. the bottom is still sealed, etc. check the pics out. this makes me so con-fu-sed.

homey the clown owns j00r face.

"HOMEY DONT PLAY THAT"

btw- my friend did get the 400-hp SA22 RX7, i will be going to his house tonight to watch the car get sideways at 80 mph from brake boosting, lol.

edit- i didnt ask sitki about it, but he was under the impression that they were still in there.

maybe he took it to a....really.....REALLY low-down ****ty shop somewhere and they scammed him out of some koni inserts? i have no goddamned idea.

I have a couple of sets of used TurboS front strut assemblies and rear shocks. One set is bone stock with TurboS springs and strut tops. The other set is Turbo S but also includes rebound adjustable on the bottom. Locking collar on the bottom but no spribgs perches or camber plates. Two sets of stock TurboS Koni sport shocks. Send me a message and I can send photo's
