Interior Light...
The interior light, the one up by the rear view mirror, has been falling out on a more or less regular basis lately. It used to take the Karrusel to knock it loose, but now just normal driving seems to duffice.
As there is some gummy black adhesive stuff on it, I'm sure it had been a problem for the previous owner as well.
I would like to replace it, and it looks to be a rather generic bit. Any leads as to maybe a VW or Audi source for it that might be less expensive than my local Porsche emporium?
Thanks in advance.

It is a VW part but I don't know if it would be much cheaper than at the dealer. It should clip into place so you tab is either broken or the metal tensioner is worn.
I think they are only $12 as it is.

You can see the spring tensioner that keeps it in place to the left of the light in the picture.

make sure it's snapped in firmly, i know it sounds, but i did notice that you need to press it really hard for it to clip in place, it felt firm in place when i place mine back, but it popped of within a day, I then realized that I had to kinda shuffle it in there and press it rather firmly to clip in. could be worth a try.

Thanks Snappy, I think I'll have a closer look at it. It seems as thought the black gunk that the PO applied may be jamming the springy bit...
