Shims INSIDE the seat???
Well, I cannot make the required installed spring height.
The vender in CA. (not Rennlist member) is getting old and didn't give a **** enough to check the specs of my stuff the FIRST time I sent it back.
Anyway, I cannot shim any more under the seat because the seat is centered on the top of the guide and it will become uncentered if I lift it more.
I have the correct diameter and width shim to install INSIDE the seat (to achieve correct installed spring height) - is this acceptable?

should be, do the ones you have now have a flanged hole in the center? If so pu the shims under it, provided they have a larger hole so they will set down in the seat flush. this should get help get installed height correct. Just use your "centered shims" on top of the on es that will fit all the way down in there. Do you have a valve spring mike or are using a set of calipers? Before I had a spring mike I used to meake a "go-no go gauge". as using calipers can be difficult to get an accurate measurement. Hope this helps

Bad - thanks.
Yes - the lower ones are exact fit in the diameter of the head bore.
The inside ones are exact fit inside the new *"special" seats.
It looks like the upper ones were made to actually be installed the way I have them, I was just wondering if anyone had seen this.
*sized by a 65 yearold dumbass with 50 years of experience - STILL ****ed it up.

lol I know how them old guys are. My grandfather has been working on cars for over 50 years, I now run the business. Some things you just can't get him to understand! Yeah just shim your "special" shim up from underneath and will be good.
