Center "Turbo" rear reflector/light
I don't see very many of these about and I read (off eBay of all places) that they were "banned" by Porsche...?
I tried google and a search of rennlist but didn't find anything useful. (Which probably just indicates my lack of seaching skills...)

It was a common dealer update option in the U.S.
Remember, this option requires that you drill two to four holes (in the sheetmetal area behind the original license plate) to mount the reflector panel. Here is a pic showing the holes:

It will also mean re-locating your license plate to the bumper. This will involve drilling more holes. I understand the original kits sold by the dealers came with the license plate mounting brackets. However, it does not come with a set-up to light up the license plate (which may pose a problem for the cops in some states).
Personally, I like the reflector panel with the "PORSCHE" script. But it looks cheesy to light up the panel. I also prefer to remove the "PORSCHE" decal as it would be overkill to have two "PORSCHE" insignias at the rear end.

Thank you.
My car already has the center installed with the license plate relocated (although I would like to get this moved up 1/2 an inch ... I think. At the very least I need some shorter bolts :>)
Just wondering if it was taboo.

I think that some people liked the look of the 911/930 with the lit up panel and wanted to emulate that on their 944/951's. I don't care for it personally, but I know others that like the look.

I'm not a fan of it, the car in my sig came with one that said PORSCHE, it's since been removed. The other one has one that says "Turbo" which I've left on because the car will be sold sometime early '06.

Here
The other part #'s are: 906253 & 909047
I'm considering it myself as at some point in it's life my car had the kit & then it was removed. I now have 4 holes in the back panel and 2 in the bumper. They are plugged but still look like sh*t. I wish a knew the butcher that did that.
If you are going to remove the stuff take it to a body shop and get it fixed right.
