I ran the hollow 8's and 11's on my 89 Turbo, ie late offset. At the front, the bolt centers and hub center are the same but the cavity for the wheel bearing is much smaller on the 996 so you can't run with dust caps. I removed my dust caps and used center caps to protect the bearing against dirt. Not a perfect solution but it worked. I ran 245 hoosiers. As you have early offset you will need 1 inch spacers.
I ran 285 hoosiers at the back and there was a minor rub. As you have early offset you may need spacers up to 15mm.
My recomendation would be to stick with 993 TT hollow spokes 8's and 10's. Wide body 40 offset rears for your car. You should be able to run the rears without spacers and the fronts with 1" spacers. You can still run 245 and 285 tires. Just so happens I have a set for sale!!!!

I have these wheels on my 86 951. You will need to install a 21mm spacer up front to take the front to late offset - you won't have problems there, they fit quite well with the spacer in place.
The rear is a bit trickier - I have 295's out back. Luckily the backspacing is very deep on these wheels, so you can use a large spacer (19mm - 21mm works well) to move the wheel away from the inner fender liner. I also had to roll my fender lips and grind the insides down to keep from rubbing.
Its a lot of effort for little gain. I wouldn't do it again but yes it can be done.
