My state just had a pretty bad ice storm and I JUST got my power back on this morning after being without for several days. My dad's 87' 951 was running perfect the night of the storm when he brought it home but after the storm in the night it won't start now. It turns over just fine and gets some spurts of fire where it sounds like it wants to start but it just won't. No Ice got into the engine bay area and the battery is only a couple months old. I have checked all the connections I can think of and it just won't start. It baffles me since it was running great before the storm. Any ideas?

I got no idea about why the car isn't starting but where in SC are you. I'm here in G'ville. My house didn't get hit that bad but some of them around me were pretty tore up.

I live in Spartanburg, it was pretty bad around here with tons of people without power, and some still don't have power.
I finally got the car started today, I had to beg it to start but it finally did. After it got warmed up and driven around it works perfectly again. It still baffles me but its back on the road again with no issues.

I don't know the actual science behind it, but batteries are seriously affected by cold. It may have had power to attempt to cranck, but not enough to actually turn over. Hopefully one of the Canadians will chime in and tell you a bit more about batteries vis a vis cold weather.

It likely wasn't that cold with the ice storm; those usually occur right around freezing...Could water/freezing rain have somehow blown into the engine bay? Jeez, just seems weird...
