OT: 03 Cobra vs. C6 ZO6

Why get a 'vette if all you want is power?
The new GTO (family sedan looking thing from Pontiac) has (as an option?) the same 7.0L LS2 engine does it not? Granted it doesn't try for the Sports Car segment ...
I mean, it wouldn't hurt my feeling to get "beaten" by a Corvette, even an older one, (I saw a beautiful Stingray the otherday...) but "mid-level" family sedans, large SUVs, and minivans (okay, not *just* yet) ...
Most new mid-size cars seem to be hitting the 250+HP mark with 350+ varients (Dodge Magnum, Chrysler 300C, Pontiac GTO, Cadillac, and higher-priced European offerings).
HP just isn't as hard to come by these days -- just add another $8k to a cars base price and you can get it direct from a dealership (Then again, 20 years before the 944 was concieved...)
Anyway, now that I've finished that particular line of ranting, I've had an offer to buy my 951 (within 24 hours of owning it) and someone compliment me on the road while driving (withing a week) and damn, that says something and puts a grin on my face.
I might never be able to afford a modern 911, or boxter but owning something "uncommon" (read: special?) makes me happy. (Mustangs, any year since the 5.0 days are a dime-a-dozen here...)
P.S. Imagine an LS2 engine running at 18PSI :-)

No, I mean, people get 400+HP off of our 2.5L displacement engines (and I've seen 2.2 ECOTECH (spell?) [GM] engines hitting 1000 HP in a car magazine -- after extensive rework of course), imagine starting with 7L of displacement before adding forced induction and then adding over 1 bar. I haven't really looked around but the few high-displacement kits I've looked at for some unknown reason, such as for the Viper, run relatively low at about 5psi.
