Default X-post Santa came early (pics inside)

What I consider to be one of the Holy Grails of old Porsche ownership. Santa brought me a no-crack, no airbag, late style black dashboard. Now the fat bastard could've kept the freaking oil leak that showed up this weekend.

Thanks Pauerman for selling it to me and the outstanding packaging and delivery arrangements.

Although I've had the steering wheel off and the instrument cluster out I've never taken the dash out. This should be exciting.

dammit im jealous. I got cracks in mine.

still trying to figure out what the heck im going to do.

I hered installing the new dash is a real pita, and I honestly dont have the time. I wonder if my current dash is repairable and how much it would cost to fix it.

anyone know how many hrs it should take a pro shop to remove a dash completely and install a new one?

Search the 928 forum for a way to fix your own dash. Looked promising and I may try it on my old cracked dash for #$^%s and giggles.

I pulled and reinstalled a new dash in 4 hours and took my time doing it. It's actually really easy.

I've ben reading but not doing much posting. I'm slowly building a 3.0L (should be done by April) but with working 60 hrs a week, 2 kids, a PITA wife, and building a few cars for friends I haven't had much time for anything else. Give me a call sometime.

start a 3.0 ltr build thread on your project when you get a chance. I would like to see it. It seems 3.0ltr 951's are getting more common by the day. I will need to get one just to keep up

Yup dash removal and install are not real hard, just take a little patience...and a little time and...

Got one without cracks, now all you have to do is worry and worry and worry until the first crack appears .....or cover it with carpet....

I am a BIG fan of the Plastic Dash Overlay! done it on several cars with great success.
Secret is to NOT glue it down!

Coverlay is the one I have always used(been around for years)...and they are TX. I always used black, but had a busted up one(someone glued to the dash), and I painted it burgundy to match my interior...no problem.

But these have just recently popped up.-Never tried them.
