Question Low HP - TO4E

I will try to post the dyno results at some time, but in the meantime I would appreciate some feedback, given the following data.

On a Dyno jet, my best numbers were 297 HP with a max torque of 300 at 18 PSI.
The set up includes a new TO4E (less than year and will need to verify the trim), Siemens 55 lb injectors, MAF, Guru chips, Lindsey dual port wastegate, MBC, 3 BAR FPR, Lindsey Blow off valve, 3 inch muffler, no cat. Vacuum per guage is about 18 after warm at idle.

Given the above and what I have read here, it would seem that these numbers should be higher. Therefore, my main concern is understanding whether there maybe some possible underlying mechanical issues that need to be addressed and the different possibilities. I plan on doing a compression test this week to start my diagnosis, but would certainly appreciate some pointers.

The car has just over 100K miles and to date I have not changed the head gasket,or had any work done in that area of the engine.
Thanks
Biggles

what are the turbo's specs? - hotside & coldside.
if u are still getting full boost at 3800-4Krpm then maybe an exhaust leak, intake leak, or wategate problem? Or the turbo could be too big i guess - how did it perform pre-turbo upgrade?

what mods do you have to get 260rwhp out of the stock turbo at only 14.5psi?

is it a 26/6 or 26/8?

I can only say it was a stock 86 with the stock turbo . He did cat removal and added a DTA stand alone ecu , 55 lbs injectors dyno time and mapping that was it .

Actually a huge difference. I should know, I had the before and after. Now I'm blessed with custom Vitesse Racing MAF chips, wow! Once you have them, you'll never want another set other than his.

I am speaking from having the LR chips only. I have friends who had Auto chips too, but I can't speak for them. Without a doubt, Vitesse Racing makes the best chips!! I will say this, John's chips right out of the box were 95-97% on the money with the A/F! And with his custom MAF chips, my A/F will always be dead on regardless of PSI levels. Do you know how much money, driving and dyno time, let alone aggravation that saved me? When it comes to chips, Vitesse makes the best chips on the market period. Do a search, there are countless, and countless of threads where people praised him and his chips

Sorry for the OT, back to the program...

"And with his custom MAF chips, my A/F will always be dead on regardless of PSI levels."

I have never heard that before. Maybe I just missed it.

John, that is a MAJOR selling point !!!! Definately inlcude that in your marketing. No re tuning or tweaking needed.

ok, John, we gotta re visit trying to work on a chip for my maf/LR turbo and "off beat" injectors

When a MAF works like it should, (i.e. a TRUE MAF chip and not a crap massaged AFM signal.) then it can calculate how much fuel is needed by how much air is being pulled through. AFR stays the same whether you are running 12 psi or 25 psi. (. . .as long as your fuel system is capable of providing that amount of fuel, of course.)

Wait, that is me saying that based upon my experience. Im not putting words in John's mouth or anything of that sort. So please dont suggest him to use my verbiage. Im just a VERY happy customer and speaking from "my experience". Second, what Ted said below is very wise to listen too.
