New Carpet
Had new carpet installed yesterday. I got the "kit" from Performance Products. The color is their "851 Biscuit." Sort of a light tan, and looks really good with the stock Linen seats and door panels. Finished off with custom Lloyds mats.
The kit included late and early model map pocket carpet and early console trim pieces. The only real down side was the carpet does not have the foam pieces that cover the spare tire and the rear storage cubbies, but my installer made do.

I got the mats from Performance Products. The carpet kit came from http://www.autoupholsterykits.com/. The "kit" cost $249.00 + $45.00 shipping. I had a local shop (Corky's Upholstery Service in Richmond VA) do the installation.

Did you have any issues with the side carpet pieces that extend into the hatch? I know there are 2 different typres; those that have can accomodate rear 3 point seat belts or those that don't.

The carpet comes with "some" padding, but then again the original carpet didn't have much in the way of padding, so I'd say they are even.
The only "issues" with the rear carpet was for the rear cargo area and rear deck. The piece for the rear deck does not have the moulded foam for the spare tire and the rear cubbies. There are no snaps (the ones that go across the back edge), so my installer gave me some chrome plated snaps. Also we had to cut the reinforcement for the cargo area light from the original carpet and glue it to the new carpet so we could mount the light.
On the plus side, each piece had more than enough carpet to allow for proper fit, and the quality is actually very good.
