Default M3 < 951......C5 Convertible < 951.

as titled.

yes, i know. street racing. how awful. i had to do it. i had to defend the honor of the crest.

just to put you (or at least some of you) at ease, both races were at night, empty freeway, if we would have hit anything it'd have been a cop or a guard rail.

Last night- 12:30, i see a little flock of bimmers running down Highway 50. i pass them slowly, because after all- I'M driving the porsche. a silver one latches onto my tail. he passes. i confirm- Brand new M3. Quad exhaust. Dealer plates. drop into 3rd, catch up. run even at about 75-80 for a little bit....3 honks....drop the hammer. He stays with me for a little bit, shift to 4th. he slowly starts to drop back, shift into 5th, he decides that he's gonna drop it. i lift off. I keep going for a little, 2 more exits pass, then he decides to take up fight again. i comply, and show him that it wasnt a fluke, his brand new at least 55,000-dollar car lost to a 20 year old Porsche.

his posse catches up with him and he gets off the freeway, no doubt thinking that he's been beat by some highly modded porsche. not a 20 year old car with 3 mods.

I continue on my trip home at normal speeds, until i see a set of tiny flip up lights in my rear view. "TA?, FC?" no, C5 Vette Converbile. Red, no doubt. black rims. this race was decided a little bit quicker than the last one. 80-110, he got a jump, shift out of 3rd, catch even with him, then by 110, his front bumper is equal to my rear. i let off, and he keeps going, no doubt with a point to prove. i let him go, as the 951 has had enough feed for the night.

I get off the freeway, and my coolant temp is at the 2nd notch. oil press. is normal, and life is good.

God I love my car.

since you won it should have gone 951 > m3, 951 > corvette

Cool. I kinda think my 951 is slow. But that is just me I guess. Maybe if I had some more mods it would be better, but without a vitesse kit I don't think it would be that fast. But, to be fair, their cars probably don't leak anything and the interior is brand new But we have CHARACTER muahahaha

guru 15 psi chips, K&N filter (probably lost a hp there), and full 3 inch with no cat (stock downpipe tho). est hp? i dunno, 230, 240? tq is like, what. almost 300? weird like that. sure make enough hp to make a bmw and a C5 cry.

I take on M3's and C5's all the time here, but i never launch it. Once shift into second i floor it, i see the boost gauge reading higher, revs hitting 6,400, shift, look at the rear view mirror and see one pissed of M3/C5 driver.

So a k26/6 with chips, wastegate, exhaust should hang with either a c5 or E46 m3? Maybe I just need to get a piggyback and really tune mine!

yeah a c5 auto vert is a dog. Only put down like 285ish rwhp and they weigh like 3500lbs. We make just as much tq and obsession above prolly isint that far off with the hp...which the weight more than makes up for.

with a good driver a few mods the 951 walks c5's...especially verts.

Wheres my c5 coupe with intake and exhaust video...hehe That was just ugly

Yeah - it was about an exit length, I would say. Not a NY city exit, either - more like a Kansas exit length.

A good 26/6 with a wastegate that will hold 15# or more of boost should hit 260ish rwhp and 300 ft;lbs tq. That is enough to run comparable to some of those cars.

dumped stock wastegate. i dont know why, but it used to drop off 4 or 5 psi. now it drops off 1...MAYBE. i love it.
