Default 3.0L Article In 911 & Porsche World

I just went and bought the latest issue of 911 & Porsche World # 140, which had a pretty damn long write up on a 3.0L 944T. The owner of the car is a well known soccer player in the UK I believe. His name is Marcus Hahemann. He is also a current Lindsey Racing customer too.

I read the entire thing twice, and I have to say overall I was very dissapointed with the results "he claims" to have gotten with his project car. He doesn't have any specific data at all on the performance, let alone a dyno sheet to back up his statements - yet the editor saw him fit to be published? LOL.

The following is an except from the article by the owner himself, read this: "I can adjust the the turbo boost using the dual port wastegate. I can go from 10PSI to whatever I think is necessary. The maxium boost is 30PSI - but I don't think the engine would last to long at that kind of boost! I'm running 14PSI at the moment. The bottom line is that the engine should be good for 400 BHP on maxium boost, with much of that avaliable in the mid range thanks to the extra capacity".

Yes, you read that right, he said 400 BHP, not RWHP. And no he doesn't have any empirical data to back up anything too. Based on his own words as I typed above, at 30PSI he makes 400BHP? You've got to be kidding me? LOL. If someone can, please scan the article and put it into a PDF format so everyone can read this on here. At the very least, it's a very entertaining article.

[tongue in cheek]
These are European numbers.
Thomas, how much power is Lars making? 270 European rwhp? And he leaves your car in the dust (350 US rwhp?).

Lars should put out close to 375 crank at 18 psi, that's what he ran last time I asked about his boost pressure....puts him at 325-330 whp.

I saw the same article. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was pretty weak. I did notice the BHP and not RWHP. Did you see where he had his wideband sensor? It was in the vent. I thought that was a pretty neat place to put it.

Yes I did. Read the part how he is running 72 lb. and is going to downgrade to 55 because he is running to rich?

How do any of you know that he didn't ask for and get 400 bhp, and is happy with it?

If you ASK for 400 hp and get it, you have NO business being upset with a failure to get more. Maybe he's satisfied where he is.

Lars and I actually runs about exactly the same at the moment! With the same boost. I got more HP than him, he got more torque than me(he got about 600nm in his car!), because the 3liter engine.

But yeah, there seems to be a small difference between some european and us dynos!

E you are right. Youre the man! But why bother with a 3.0L? The guy owned a 2.5L prior to that, which listed on the LR site now. Anyway, I just thought this would make a good thread thats all.
