Default H4 Bulbs: Which ones are you using? Xenon?

I just upgraded my bulbs to H4 w/ 30% xenon and was wondering what other people are using? 100% xenon come in blue or purple, anyone using them?

I'm using some cheap blue ones I found online -- they are down right hazardous due to low light levels and I'd avoid them.

Sylvania Silverstar H4, pricey but they are the best I have tested so far and outlast any other one I have tested. Some only lasted 3 months so far I am on 9 months on a single set.

I just installed a set of some "Hyper White" H4s I found at Pep Boys. Much better than the "stock" H4 Halogens.

Hey Guys
Do any of these require new wiring ?
Also I assume that the lights you are all referring to require a new set up, as our stock bulbs are sealed... aren't they ?
Does anyone have experience or know of these ?

I am using E-Code H4 housings from JC Whitney and Silverstar H4 bulbs. The goofy funny colored lights are annoying and not for a serious motorist. The Silverstars are pretty good and H4's deliver about 50% more light in stock wattage compared to the sealed beam stockers. Great light output without rewiring or any great expense (about $80 total.)

Hella H4 housings are nicer but considering the stone chips and sandblasting I choose not to afford them. I do not think I would buy the Silverstars again either, just some quality H4 bulbs.

I'm not sure what those are on Ebay but you will find everything you need at Susquehanna Motor Sports including lens, bulbs and harnesses. For standard 60/55W H4 bulbs you don't need any special wiring, just new lens and the bulbs of your choice.

From my personal unscientific testing Silverstars SUCK. They don't offer any better light than a cheap H4 and they burn out super fast as in less than 3-4 months. I don't want to pay $35 every few months for bulbs.

BTW, I tested them side by side with regular bulbs on the 951 and on my wife's Honda Odyssey. One Silverstar and one reg. bulb. The Silverstar offered ZERO benefit. YMRMV.

Ed,
I have the Hella housings with Hella 55/100 H4 bulbs, great pattern and more than enough light. I'm not worried about stone chips and sandblasting on mine, I rarely drive it much at night and it will do the same to any lens, not just Hellas. It makes a great upgrade for the money. Those eBay lights are junk made for Honduhs.

I have not seen the ebay lamps so I cannot comment on them.

The Silverstar H4s are OK, I have had them for a couple of years. No problem with them burning out yet. I drive at night a lot but have lots of cars so the S2 does not see that much use though.

Yes the cheaper lenses will also get chipped or sandblasted but can be replaced very easily and cheaply. Colorado gets lots of pea-sized granite gravel on the mountain roads. So cheaper H4s are good for me. Light output is great even with stock wattage H4s and JC Whitney E code lenses. I could get another 100-150 watts of light with relays, upgraded wiring, and overwattage bulbs but I do not think I could see any better. I'd just blow some money and annoy other drivers.
