Ehall is right, I've done a fair amount of Fiberglass stuff on my car. As for the rear bumper, yes it dumps ALOT of weight. But you do lose crash protection as you're basically replacing the two heavy shocks, and steel bumper with a piece of fiberglass for appearence. I dont plan on backing into anything and if I get hit it's probably going to total the car anyway, knowing my insurance company. In my book, it's worth it, but that's me. I need to get my car weighed in again this year, but I'd be surprised if I was over 2650lbs.

Hey mike,
I have the stock Euro bumper set to go on. To your knowledge, does it maintan the actual shox/steel bumper assembly, or does it require delete as well? I'm trying to figure out if i should pick up a new set of bumper shox. TIA

I did not deal with the euro bumpers, but IIRC you need euro shocks for the euro bumper. Might be best to ask someone like Duke, Sweanders, or Corolene who deal with these.

I have a genuine euro 951 rear bumper, and the rear shocks are different from the north american ones.

you can keep the underbody turbo valence with all of these bumpers.

E,
They came with the bumper. I got it on Ebay from the UK. I think they shipped it across the Atlantic by tugboat, because it took months to get here. LOL.

E,
I think you can "adapt" the NorthAmerican bumper shocks to work with the euro bumper by compressing them. I will find out when I have time...

No one makes an ABS/plastic bumper cover for the 951 do they? It seems weird to me that they ditched the rubber bumpers on the front, but kept them on the rear.

But yes, if I get hit, its probably going to be a total anyway, so maybe the question was a bit irrelevant

because a porsche is far more likely to be able to stop fast and get rear-ended, rather than stop slowly and hit the car in front?

yeah Porsches are the reason whenever I hit my brakes I stare in the rear view...I've had to hit 'em hard on the street due to a$$hole drivers, or imature ricers...I've never come close to rear ending anything...but many have come close to my a$$...why don't other manufacturers make better braking systems for their cars?

There is already a pick of the euro bumper in this thread. See above. Also look in the picture thread. There are quite a few.

I paid 400 bucks including shipping. I almost felt bad as the address of the guy I bought it from, makes me think he might have been an enlisted soldier who needed cash. lol. been there done that. Anyway, it was still in shrink wrap, in the Porsche box, with the Porsche pn.

Anyway, what mods did you make to the shoocks to get them to work with the new bumper?
