Just finshed resding the Nov. 03 issue of Automotive Design and Production and there is an article about how Porsche is making all the V8 Cayanne blocks out of Alusil.
I was not aware Alusil was still being used.
I just thought it was cool to read about although it gives no really new or ground breaking info on the Alusil process.

They still use Alusil, it's the iron coating process on the pistons that's been changed for all the environmental concerns of the waste from the old process.

Yes- Kolbenschmidt still makes the Alusil blocks. But I hear Mahle now licenses the process from KS to build the Cayenne/911/Cayman/Boxster engines. Mahle is far bigger than KS, ans has the production capacity to produce Alusil for the mass market.

I know that Kolbenschmidt is currently manufacturing the Cayenne V8 blocks for Porsche, read it in an Arabic Translated Euro Magazine on Automotive manufacturing news.
