I'm not taking sides but jy951's language and name calling has been inappropriate and entirely uncalled for. I appreciate others here not responding in turn.

We won't be hearing from jy951 for a little while.

Just got back from KC and had a great wrenching session with the KCWS! Installed a Lindsey DPWG, mbc, and Vitesse chip!

Too bad I'm missing all that mid-range torque. I guess if I really wanted to step up I could "upgrade" to a 1" exhasut!

Post them.

Wow.......six pages

Input i have is that i ditched the CAT on the 88 NA, went for a straight pipe. It sounded the same (don't ask) but drove much better and smoother.

I have to thank you for that. I had to take a break from this thread because he was annoying me so badly...

Some of the MOST ignorant people to the 951 to forced induction, and to modifications are Porsche techs. They are not the peoples you ask about making power. You can ask them about changing belts, and you can ask them about changing pads, but rasing boost to 15 PSI will undoubtably throw a rod according to them. Just because some jackass that thinks hes the **** tells you ****, doesnt mean the **** is the ****.
When you turn a wrench dude, like the rest of "us rennlisters" then come back, since our false info is most likely based on something we have personally touched or f*cked with in our engines.
Eyal
P.S. what the hell is with that bold crap, its annoying as hell! We can read! (unless your tech said we couldn't, then of course, we can not.

jy-
i'd love to see the dyno chart you or your techs have to show loss of midrange power without a cat. maybe on an NA, but not on a turbo.

As per my original post my cat was 75% clogged. I would say that my total gain was around 40hp considering I was only achieving 7 psi boost before and about 11.5 after.

Karl2bdc's dyno charts show similar gains. I believe his cat was clogged as well.

To your point I doubt that replacing a perfectly working cat will result in 40 RWHP but if you were down 30 to begin with you gain that back plus additional benifit of less back pressure than stock.

lol this thread is still going. The guy got banned for his behavior. As for 40hpp. SD said it well. The dispute was never over the actual hp increase, it was the fact that jy said it would "reduce mid=range torque". Whatever. lol

I see so your car's engine is back to stock power again (instead of arround 250 only about 210)

Why close or delete the thread? Some of it is actually interesting to read.
