Default T04E/T3 owners...

I'm wodering what kinda of power and torque figures you all are getting. I'm beginning to get a parts list and gameplan together for a motor upgrade revolving around a hybrid T04E with a custom machined T3 hotside. All tuning will be done in house and I'll be running 18psi.

Any T04E owners have dyno charts for 18psi.

TIA guys and gals,
Kevin

I'm running a T04E 50 trim, #8 hotside and Stage III wheel from Turbonetics. I put down 325HP to the wheels with a dynapack dyno (stingy) @5800RPM. If I had continued the test to 6200RPM like most folks I would have broken 335HP since the HP was still rising pretty quickly. I get full boost by 3800RPM in 4th, but I do have a leak in the headers (probably cracked) which isn't helping. I'm also not using the ball bearing version. All HP numbers were at 19PSI (18.7)

The one I'll be using is a 46 trim, so the numbers should be similar. I have the same hotside as you. I should have a similar setup to yours overall actually... 55# injectors, MAP conversion, 3bar FPR and I hope to be tuning with Link or MAFterburner. Still weighing the tuning options.

Do you happen to know what A/F it was at during boost? Thanks for the input.

EDIT: I just noticed what you were saying about the numbers... ok, that is promising because I plan on running up to 6700 or 6800. My goal is 340 or 350whp. I also should have slightly faster response with the 46 wheel, heat wrapped headers and ceramic coated housings... I just hope I can still get that nice upper end numbers of the 50+ trim wheels.

I was almost perfect 11.8-12:1 from 4k RPM through 5800RPM. I don't think I could have squeezed any more power out of it, but fixing the header leak would have generated more torque and would let the turbo spool up sooner.

I have a T04E with a 46 trim wheel in it. It spools up very fast but I dont have any dyno charts yet but next year when I get my clutch and my exhaust leak fixed im going to dyno it at 15psi and 20+ with the race settings on my vitesse MAF

Are all of you guys running #8 hotsides? Id like to run a T04e 46 trim #6 hotside. I want the fastest spooling turbo possible that will still make 325rwhp @ 19-20psi. It sounds like to fit this turbo with a stage 3 wheel you must machine and the end result is something similar to a #8. I dont know if I can live with a 3800 rpm spool time, seems high. Thoughts?

Sam, you saw my car on the dyno this year at the fest. I'm running a to4b with a 57 trim and #6 hotside. That day I made 313hp with 18lbs of boost. Since then I've had my number 6 hotside machined out to take a stage 3 wheel. I've also added the Lindsey 3" exhaust. The car now dynoed at 335hp. The spool up is before 3200 rpm. I think with more tunning the car will hit 350hp at 20psi of boost.

Ah yes, I remember. It recently dynoed at 335rwhp @ 18lbs? Very nice. When you say spool up is before 3200 do you mean 1bar, 18psi, 12psi? Can you clarify a bit...thanks.

I don't know what the boost pressure is exactly because that is the time that I'm holding on and the car is hitting hard. I'll look at the dyno chart tonight when I get home and see exactly where full boost comes on. I love the setup with the enlarged #6, but I can't compare to a #8 hotside because I've never had one. The car defiantly spools fast. A lot goes into the tunning, which you'll be fine with given the orgin of your MAF and software.

One quick question without hijacking...What are the specs for the Stage III #8 hotside that SFR sells?
I would really like to know since my car allready has it but and I want to analyze the efficiency maps.

Mine is doing 289 @15 with full boost @ almost 4k, but I'm with stock injectors and the autothority chips have my AFR completely messed up and VERY rich during spoolup.

This question must be directed to Tim at SFR. Without Tim's permission, no one should be answering this question in a public forum.

One more question por951turbo: How does the spoolup now compare to the original k26/6?
