+1 on the megatron. They do work well.

 

my megatron is almost 5 years old and works great, although i feel its about time to replace it soon

 

what about the carrot top....

 

I have the red top mounted sideways, got it about a year ago, no problems at all, but it does not sit for more than two days as this is my daily driver.

 

I have a red top on its side in my car. If memory serves I'm on the 5th...but might be 6th one. They never last more than 2 years or so...IF THAT. This one is about a year and a half now...so time for it to go belly up. Despite the fact that the replacements are free...i will not be getting another one. Tired of replacing them even if they are free.

 

like it's been mentioned already, the yellow tops are the 'real' optimas. the red tops are basically like a regular car battery, only more expensive.

get the yellow tops. red tops sux.

 

The red top a real Optima, and is a starting battery. "Regular" car batteries function properly.

Yellow top is a starting and deep cycle battery.
