Allright, anyone here- in my last reply, I said "Michelle... that's very sweet of you- you're a doll... I would love to do something like that" - the word l-o-v-e is underlined on MY screen & is a link to some dating site... I've seen this happening a lot lately... is this just on my screen, or, is it on any of your screens too...? Starting to think I have some sort of pyware or something.... keep getting pop-ups, of ALL kinds... driving me nuts.... & now this... I've actually seen it in other people's posts here too- certain words are links to BS sites... Sorry for the tangent...
EDIT- GREAT, it's on the word d-a-t-i-n-g now too... how do I get rid of this crap- virus scans are coming up negative- even run several spywares & am getting nothing....

You have a serious case of spyware/adware. Probably something called Gator and a few others too - see if that's hyperlinked. These things cause popups/popunders, scan the pages you read and create links on the fly (some to *very* dubious sites) and are generally extremely difficult to remove. Ad-aware and Spybot are two free utilities that will help a lot, but not necessarily if you're already infected.
I'm sorry to say, you're in for a rough time getting rid of everything. Sounds like you have more than one going on and it's going to take some research (on an UN-infected machine) to find everything.

Thanks everyone... Yes, I have XP... I also run Ad-Aware, Spybot, Macafee, & one or two other's I'd have to look up to find the names....... none has worked to get rid of this so far- only had it for a few days, but, it's getting annoying.. Most of what comes up is searching for dating sites, but, all kinds of ****-site material is coming up too... Boy, if I were a serious perv, I'd be in luck...! Geoff- I'm going to check that out right now- if it doesn't work, I'm going to set an appt w/a friend who fixes this stuff all the time.... thanks...
