Konstantin see the "Engine Analyzer" thread here on this board, for the information on the actual intercooler numbers. Skunk Wokz did his own tests against the stock IC, as well as testing flow rates for some head work from the same company.

Corleone, what IC are you running and where did you get it? Cost?

I am not sure LR have a stage 3, but Skunk did the flow test on it... not just seat of the pants stuff, but an actual flow test. Its all in the "engine analyzer" thread.

300 hp will be 330... 400 will be 440 and 500 will be 550...

A good IC is a great thing!
Whoa, thats a handy calculation to have! What IC are you using? Let me guess custom...

Who needs a metal front bumper when you're car is so fast it can only be rear ended when you stiop?

Good question though? What's up with that Corleone?

Isnt that where the SFR one sits too? They note you dont even have to take the bumper off to fit it...

How did he flow it, on the bench or the dyno ? Pressure drop (amount of pressure lost through IC due to flow restrictions) is best tested on a dyno w/the right equipment , the goal is to be less than 1 psi . Temp drop testing with a omega DPI temp meter will document actual temp decreases =denser air=more power=less detonation.
In general front mounted intercoolers do realy well in the temp drop department but increase the pressure drop by a good margin plus you want to keep the plumbing as short as possible, sometimes hard to do with a FMIC , short plumbing = less press drop.
Mounting a FMIC in front of the radiator will for sure result in overheating on a track like Willow springs in the summer or street racing in las vegas.
If yoy are looking for pure bling , all the above does not matter.

On a sidenote, on a engine dyno various IC's from reputable tuners LOST hp in comparison to the stock unit on a 993tt.

This is good information. On recent tests that i know about, the pressure drop across the stock and a LR IC was very bad. Because of this, I am having an IC made that will be offered for sale to all. Expect something completely different, and a lot beter than presently offered.

How do you know it will? Have all cars with a front mount over heated? All 944's with front mounts overheated on that track?

What about with the a/c condensor in front of the radiator? What about a/c delete and FMIC?

Have you ever been at Willow springs ?

And yes , I have a seen a FMIC 951 overheat , it was a spearco w/custom tanks and has , to the best of my knowledge , been taken off since and I am not aware of any true FMIC 951 in POC due to the heat issues.
Even stock or mildly modified cars run very hot on that track , same goes for Button Willow (Summer)

However , if you want to break new grounds , develop a liquid IC and report what it does.

Nope never been to Willow... though I do see hundreds of cars in endurance events with FMIC's all the time, which is why I am curious about why a 951 would be any different.
