Question 2 questions...one is an idle issue...

This is on an '86 951, the idle is at 800 cold and at 1200 warm which it sometimes spikes up to 2000. I have already checked the TPS, rebuilt the TB, checked and repaired all vacuum leaks, remove venturi, etc.

Before I go and order a new ICV I am wondering what else could cause this idle problem. Ideas??

Second question. This car has Autothority chips, will these chips work with a 3 bar FPR or do I need new ones that are designed for a 3 bar FPR, or doesn't it matter?

Anyone know about using a 3 bar FPR with Autohority chips? Any problems?

I did a search regarding idle problems which pretty much comes up as a vacuum leak being the usual cause. I have already fixed all the vacuum leaks.

I'd clean the ICV and see if that works. In my experience with all cars they tend to stick after a while because of varnish build up. Carb cleaner sorts them out.

With the chips if they are designed for 2.5bar and you put a 3bar FPR on you will be rich unless they have a jumper setting or something you can change to tell them the pressure is higher.

Cool

check the basic setting on the throttle stop screw. when it touches the throttle plate, another 1/2 turn and lock it down.

it could be holding the throttle open too far.
