Here is my project car: 1986 951. One Owner. 170,000+ miles. No Service Records, Good Leather. No accidents. Minor Body Damage. Drove it from the orginal owners garage to my shop. Car had been parked for over 12 months. Paid $3500.

It really doesn't look to bad. Good luck with with your project. Once you get all of the maintainance idems out of the way 951's are pretty reliable.

I agree, that is a pretty decent start. Will it be a daily driver, street only, street and track or will it be a dedicated track car...where is the project taking the car?

No matter what the project, keep the focus and good luck!

Good luck. I'm in Crystal Lake, north of you, and I may have some parts to help you out. If you want any help with the labor also, let me know.

Plans include a complete engine rebuild. Once the motor is out, I will review the condition and repair accordingly. Brakes, rear shocks, and ball joints need repair. Shifter is very sloppy. The engine came complete. Once the car was in the shop, I removed some of parts to take a look at the timing belts. They looked fairly new, but the water pump did not.

Upgrades and mods- GT30R, ect. ect. ect. ect.

I will be documenting the process and posting photos here on rennlist. Also, i will attempt to do most of the R&R myself. General Engine in Skokie, IL will do the machine work.

doesnt look too bad, interior looks like it's in decent condition, how's the motor? well, i know you cant really know because it's obviously missing some important pieces- airbox, afm, etc. uhh....3500, not terrible, if it's something like a track project, then good buy!
