I have a question......I just bought an Authority MAF kit off of ebay without instructions. I know it's pretty much plug and play except there is a little red wire sticking out the side of the wiring harness.....what is this for???

 

Power. Wire it into a switchible power source ( power turns on when key turns on )

As said, the MAF sensor requires a switched power source, unlike the stock AFM.

 

Mine plugged into the little test port in front of the fuse box.

APE instructions say that you should tap for switched 12V at the diagnostic port. I don't recall which pin you need to tap, but someone on here should know.

 

The "+" pin (9 oclock position) on the diagnostic plug in front of the brake master cylinder is 12+ switched.

 

Alright every time I see one of these threads I have to "vent"....you spend all that money(or somebody did) and all you get is photocopied (POORLY AT THAT)
instructions.....with marks-a-lot on them....WTF
