Great lecture. The difinitive answer hands down. I can humbly add that your untested theory on the benefits of 5/33 on an 89 951S passes the real world test.
Since switching from OE 5/18 to 5/33 my 89 offers up Spiderman grip during threshold braking, feeling relatively like the tail end is squatting down under braking compared to a tail up, nose down attitude before the swap. The car is much more composed and ready for apex and exit, in my experience to date.
FWIW,it is really interesting to have a bantam weight CSP class NA and a 951S in the same stable. If a driver unfamiliar with 944s were to be placed in both cars and not be allowed to see them from the outside, most would not identify them as being the same car at full chat. The NA favors a prepped Miata and the 951S favors an F Body pony car with better rear suspension, IMO.

You might try Big Blacks
It all fits nicely inside a 16" Style 90 (race rains).

What about a kit such as: (A back-port of a "plastic fins" or so it claims)
http://www.frozenrotors.com/coolbrake.shtml
It mentions S2's and 951s (although the turbos aren't mentioned by year...)
