Eh, screw it:

Non-'S' 88 951. I posted about selling this before and I thought for a while I could avoid it, but now it looks like she officially has to go. My sole reason for letting the car go to a new owner is purely financial. Now for the good and the bad:

109,xxx miles.
NO RUST NO RUST NO RUST.
Garage stored since the day it was purchased from the dealer in 1987. Never winter driven.
Three owners in all and I have all the receipts from every owner.
Oil changed before 3000 miles every time.
Fresh Amsoil transaxle fluid.

Good power, takes off fast, and stops on a dime.

Factory options:
  • 5-speed manual transmission.
  • Limited Slip Differential.
  • Driver 'sport' seat.
  • Alarm package.
  • Black leather.
  • Rear wiper (since deleted).
  • Cruise control.
Known good stuff:
  • Recent cap, rotor, and wires.
  • Spark plugs changed with every oil change.
  • Good condition Dunlop 5000 tires in the front.
  • New Falken GR-Beta tires in the rear.
  • Working A/C.
  • Working clock.
  • Working cruise control.
  • Working sunroof with new leather storage bag.
  • Working factory air pump.
  • Complete factory tool kit, scissor jack, and unused spare tire.
  • New front brakes (pads & rotors).
  • New rear brakes (pads only, rotors turned).
  • New trunk seal.
  • GREAT CONDITION SEATS: no rips or tears.
Aftermarket accessories:
  • Alarm + keyless entry + remote starter combo.
  • Hawk HPS brake pads.
  • AIR vented nose panel.
  • VDO 30in.hg. - 0 - 25psi boost gauge.
  • Innovate Wideband O2 with optional 2-1/16" analog gauge.
  • Dual gauge pod (gaugepods.com), painted to match interior.
  • Accuboost manual boost controller.
  • Guru Racing chip.
  • Aquamist water injection and intercooler sprayer (ShurFlo pump.)
  • Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD player.
  • Cone airfilter with AFM adapter.
  • Custom 3" cat-pipe (no catalytic converter) with header wrap.
  • Koni 'yellow' adjustable shocks & struts (front and rear), stock springs.
Known issues:
  • Extremely mild brake pulsation; I think the rears are ever so mildly warped but you really don't feel it until you near triple digit speeds.
  • Power steering rack leaks; it's not horrible but should be done. I have both the pump & the rack rebuild kits sitting on a shelf in the garage waiting for me to find the time.
Worth mentioning:

The car was hit in the driver headlight but it was taken care of by the best body shop in the area. The car is in fact in better condition now than prior to the incident since every rock chip was taken care of. This is also when I installed the AIR vented nose panel.

The bottom line:

$7500 FIRM as-is. Now, if any potential buyer in interested I can add the following items to the sale (and their value is negotiable):
  • $250 - Brand new, never installed 55#/hour injectors from Racetronix.com; includes ballast resistors, ready to go.
  • $400 - One completely built MegaSquirt-2 fuel management system INCLUDING a custom harness to plug & play into any 951. I have several ideas on how to get the MS unit to completely replace the DME & KLR but I haven't had the time to start any testing.

So I just spent the last few weeks working 80+ hours/week and got let go on Monday. WTF? Anyway, the car is still very much for sale. I've put on a mere 200 miles in the last 8 weeks.

I'm deeply apologetic for vanishing from Rennlist for a month and I make no excuses. Several people were interested previously and if they still are I'll email them my phone number & contact info upon request. I'm sorry for any inconveniences I may have caused.

And my website is down until my host solves a rectal-cranial inversion issue. I'll post pics upon request.

Michigan to California? You're 2400 miles from me. Regardless of how hard I push the car there's no way you're within 8-10 hours. Chicago is 7-8 hours from me.
