Default Griffin radiator guys, did anybody do the coolant tank too?

While replacing the rad, did anybody do the dirty coolant tank too? Looks like **** and I figured why not? I wanted to know who had the best price? Besides a dealer, I only saw one for $137. When was the last GB on these if ever?

I changed mine. Makes a big difference -- I can see my coolant level now!! The replacement tanks are not identical -- they have odd little tabs on top, but they are clean and translucent anyway...

Try Sunset Porsche in Oregon.

The tabs are for 968's where they would rub through against the inner wing. They are around £40 from UK dealers. Is this something we actually get cheaper than you US guys?

Damn that's expensive for a piece of plastic! Aren't the aluminum tanks going for just a little more?

I found that my new tank doesn't fit exactly either. I think the aluminums are like 300+.

They figured out how to build a coolant level sight for the aluminum tanks?

Stock ones are NOT expensive, if you consider what kind of car they're installed in. They probably work better than after-market ones too.

I can't recall ever hearing of a stock one letting go, I changed mine for appearances only.

now you have. They will develop pin hole leaks over time, as mine did.

Fen, At $74US why not a one shipment GB out of UK??? Someone with a central shipping location should head up the US side and if no one steps up I'll handle it.

Putting a $140 piece of plastic into a $3-4k car seems expensive in comparison.

Guys, the thing lasted for 15 years. It's called maintenance. Pay the money and change the damn thing.

I'm sure we can all admit it's not worth $20, but if it were under $100 I wouldn't think twice. Are these aftermarket units the vendors are selling? I can see OEM priced there, but if they're not, they shouldn't be half! That should make my dirty OEM worth about $75... any takers?
