WTB Splitter and need advice on body
anyone know where i can get one cheap? I think i want the AIR one since it is more aggressive looking. Also i was looking for some 968 side skirts or some other kind. Also do u have to change the whole rear hatch for a 968 spoiler? if not where can i get one for how much? I am going to be painting the car in a couple of weeks and wanted to try ordering my body parts before hand. also How do u think a hood scoop would look on the car like a 924GTS? If you have any ideas please post some pics because i want to do something to the body other then stock when i paint it.

Daniel, here is a pic of my 83' Callaway 944. Personally, I love the Carrera GTS hood scoop, and I think it adds to the overall image of the car. I would say go for it on yours. As far as the splitter I do not have much to offer other than I am in the market for one as well. Problem is the car is a 83' with 951 nose and front fenders so mounting one for a 951 is not going to work due to I have no 'batwing' hole provisions. I really like the race splitter from AIR, do you know how it mounts?
Here is a link to DP Motorsports IMHO have great looking side skirts and front splitters: http://www.dp-motorsport.de/english/index.htm
Search under DP44 in "products".
Here are some other alternatives:http://www.weissach.net/Suppliers_92..._BodyKits.html
Hope this helps!

Daniel,
I've seen 2 951s with the hood scoop like the 924GTS. One was exceptionally well-done and looked good. The other wasn't installed with as much attention to detail (uneven gaps w/ the hood and such) and looked pretty crappy. It's not something you can simply cut a hole, tack on, and make it look good.
Mike Buck added black side skirts to his car so maybe he can send you a pic. I'll reserve judgement on how they look.

i figured i would get alot more response since this is something i am sure people think about but thanks for the responses i have got so far. I am pretty sure i want to go with the splitter in the front and some sort of side skirt but wanted to view my options.

Here is my opinion on my AIR splitter.
Likes:
1. Looks damn good.
2. Looks like a factory-designed piece.
3. Looks damn good.
Dislikes:
1. Cracks if you just look at it funny.
2. Car is lowered, has almost zero clearance with it on, I can't get into driveways with lips and can't go over speed bumps/yumps.
3. Causes me to be overly timid and I have to think about where I am going because the splitter may rub. It's not unlike being handicapped and worrying about handicap access into buildings.
4. Picks up roadkill like the cowcatcher on the front of a steam engined locomotive.
Unless your car has a stiff springrate like mine (400lbs or more), it will hit and rub everything. Mine is fine on the street, it doesn't bob enough to strike the usual stuff, but like I said above, driveways and entrances that have lips are no-no's, as are speedbumps.
Mine is off right now. I have the batwing on instead.

I would just paint your car now....then buy the 968 spoiler and have it matched, as well as the splitter. Why are you painting your car....it's not even running??!!

I agree 100%
Herewith picture of Beaky before some silly old devil ushered me up an access ramp at a car display over a post retainer. The splitter was wrecked as were all the fixing points and the vertical members holding the front bottom lip. I was not best pleased. I have a replacement front PU sitting in my living room now awaiting spraying and fitting.
Once the new nose is on I will fit another splitter, but the shallower ESS carbon one this time. It may all be phsychological (? spolling), but the car does feel more planted with a splitter.
