Default Plug Leads & Resisters?

Hi all,

This is probably a dumb question but.........

am I correct in thinking that some leads have resisters built into the boots, but others don't and need to be matched with different plugs?

If so, are our standard beru boots the resistor type? Will non resistor type boots be OK with NGK BR7ES plugs?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Graham

Or am I getting confused with suppressors?

Regards

he he he ok, I know this one, but its a fluke.

Yes some have the resistor built into the boot / plug connector, the Beru leads HAVE the resistor in the boot / connector. And yes BPR7ES is perfectly ok with non resistor type leads.

Thanks NZ,

However I am running BR7ES, not the protruding ones, which I have now found to be non-resistor.

I'll try to keep to the Beru boots, or else change to the BPR's I guess.

Thanks again.

Regards

Graham

Yup, good idea, I would suggest the most common non stock combo is the BPR7ES on magnecor wires.

So BR7ES dont have resistors while BPR7ES do? I was having trouble figuring out what the "P" stands for. NGK's website would only tell me the recommended plug for my car, but I could not find information on the specific plugs.

I don't think he's going to answer you any time soon. Notice the word 'BANNED' under his name....

I don't know what the P stands for but the BPR7ES plugs are good. I have them in my car with no resistors in the Magnecor wires.

I believe the "P" is for Protruding. From memory, non protruding are supposed to be better in modified turbo applications, although the BPR's seem to be more commonly used on here.
