Thanx for the research, Ed!
Anyone got the length of the stock piece? The duct had been removed, along with the belly pans, by the PO, and I want to get both back in place.

My new OEM tube came in today. It measures 2.4" inside diameter. It is about 8" long. It cost $14 from Sunset...

Tony and others, if you need some of the hose let me know. Its yours for shipping. I purchased 5' of the mcmaster hose and have about 4' left. I'll chop it up for listers and save one length for a spare. It is heat resistant, with a spiral wire core, very flexible and fits the fender duct and the alt shroud perfectly. A couple of hose clamps and you are done. I can send it out later this week.

John,
I'm interested and would be happy to give a little more than shipping. I'll send a PM.

The moulded rear cover is a must-have to protect the regulator etc.

The duct is the reverse of what you might think. The alternator draws cooling air from the REAR, which is right around the turbo and guaranteed to be bloody hot! The duct is a snorkel that draws cooling air from below the engine, where it is much cooler. Without the duct, the turbo-heated air shortens the alternators life expectency!

Tony,

Do you run the A/C delete setup? I have some duct to fit that Alt. cowl... I think, but don't know for sure, that it's the same size for both. You're welcome to what I've got. Give me a call. Takes less than a foot w/o A/C.

Don,
My car is PCA legal, which means all the AC components are in place.

Default Chris - how did you get the OEM duct for $14?

cpt_koolbeenz:

I am assuming you mean Sunset Porsche near Portland OR, and when I called them today, the part (Air Flow Tube P/N 94460315300) cost $21.67

All, another excellent automotive duct hose source is Pegasus Racing in WI.

Good to know. I can't count the number of 951's I have seen without either the duct or the cover..or both!

OK, but do you need/want the duct?
