It might be easier just to use tank tape.
Well done on what looks a very tidy job. As your filter is insulated from the engine bay you are already getting cooler air than a lot of us so any changes are unlikely to be that noticable perhaps.
I have heared it said that, because of the airflow over the front of the car you may be trying to get pressurised air from a low pressure area. Perhaps an interesting measurement would be relative to change in pressure in your induction plenum?

Ok well I finally got round to testing the duct today... and the results... welll depressing to say the least. I spent $75 on the duct itself and a few hundred more to fix the it and paint it. And the result... zero difference between the stock headlight cover and the Lindsey Racing ducted version.
I will still keep it for the car shows as they like those ricey mods (is look cool but dont do anything). But I think I will paint the spare I bought and use that for daily driving. Here is a plot of a low boost run I did... some people noted the design of the duct was all wrong, I guess this is the data to prove it.

I am surprised that there is no change over stock, especially with your MAF trap.
I will also say that I have never been so disgusted with a part's fitment. The first time I put that thing on my car I swore they had sent me the one for a ford probe or mazda miata. How that item can even be advertised as fitting our cars is beyond me.
For those of you that say it is just the nature of any fiberglass piece, well you are wrong. I have had a lot of other fiberglass items that (while nothing is as good as original) fit very well out of the box.

Yeah I guess I had maximum air already going in because of my flexihose ducting from underneath. Or maybe the duct design as some people have commented just is wrong and air does not pass through at a rate to make a difference? That side of things is a bit out of my league really!

As far as getting cool air to the MAF filter... I have thought it would be do-able to duct air into the factory hole where the stock airbox snorkle's pick up was.
Then enclose the area around the filter like a lot of guys are doing already.
