Default Cycling valve replacement

My cycling valve is cracked. No surprise here. Can it be replaced without taking the intake manifold out? TIA

Probably not. I thik it would take the fingers of a 5 year old to get at it. Good time to upgrade that LBE to an EBC.

I think you'll have to remove the intake manifold. Good time to remove the venturi and clean things up under there.

I plan to run the car in PCA F-Stock so the cycling valve has to remain. I just had the intake manifold off for a rod bearing job. I hate taking it apart again.

I was just going to mention turbox's post. We fixed my broken nipple (to wastegate) with the intake manny on. You *Might* be able to replace it with the manny on, however, it will be tough.

Just pull the intake - it ain't that hard and it's an excuse to clean up under there.

It can be done w/o taking the intake off, but its a pain. Ive done it about 5 times or more on three different cars - so it is possible.

And since you are removing a bad one, its less trouble, because the biggest difficulty is getting the hoses off the valve w/o busting the nipples off. However, if you do bust a nipple off in one of the hoses, its difficult to clean the chunks out of the hose with the manifold on. So be careful.

Might as well give it a shot. If you cant get it off or the new one on, pull the manifold then.

Saw my mechanic do it on my car. If I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes I wouldn't believe it. Need some looooong tip needle nose though. Took about 10 minutes maybe. He changed it out trying to chase down a boosting problem

Taking the intake manifold off can be done in under an hour. Its not that hard really! I just did to paint and it was a good thing I did because I found 2 broken vacuum lines(which I ended up replacing almost all of them) and found my cycling valve to be broken. I had a MBC so I was not aware it was broken. But I say its a good excuse to clean things up!
Good luck!
